Henrietta, N.Y. — Green Gubernatorial candidate Howie Hawkins is in the Rochester area today and tomorrow to meet with voters.
Hawkins will attend the Green Party of Monroe County’s monthly meeting at the Flying Squirrel Community Center at 285 Clarissa St. He is slated to speak from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public.
On Tuesday, Oct. 12, Hawkins will be appearing on 1370 Connection with Bob Smith on WXXI-AM at noon.
He will wrap up his public appearances in Rochester with a speaking engagement from 5 to 6:3 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Rochester sponsored by the University of Rochester Community Learning Center. The talk will take place in Lander Auditorium in the Hutchinson Building. It is free and open to the public.
Hawkins, from Syracuse, is running for governor for the Green Party. He has taken a leave of absence from his job at UPS to travel across the state campaigning on a platform of a Green New Deal, a permanent ban on hydrofracking and full funding of education at all levels.
