SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Green Populist candidate for Congress in the 25th District says it's time for a redistribution of wealth to aid the nation's working class.
Howie Hawkins is not shying away from a phrase that has created controversy in the Presidential race. He says it's time to take steps that would eventually raise the minimum wage to $15 hour and he also says it's time that every worker was guaranteed four weeks of paid vacation a year.

The Green Populist candidate for Congress in the 25th District says it's time for a redistribution of wealth to aid the nation's working class.
"Americans put in more hours of work than any other industrialized country, including the notoriously workaholic Japanese and it's impairing our physical and civic health," Hawkins said.
He's also calling for a closer look at steps like a four day work week and double pay for any overtime.
Hawkins is challenging democrat Dan Maffei and republican Dale Sweetland in the congressional race.
