Syracuse - Democrat Dan Maffei won't be there, but 25th Congressional District candidates Dale Sweetland and Howie Hawkins will debate without him at 7 p.m. tonight at Onondaga Community College in an event broadcast live on WSYR-AM's Jim Reith Show.
Sweetland, a Republican, and Hawkins, the Green Populist candidate will debate for an hour at OCC's Storer Auditorium, in Ferrante Hall.
Maffei will be at a rally in Rochester, appearing with Assemblyman Joe Morelle and Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy.
The three candidates are vying to succeed 10-term incumbent Rep. James Walsh, R-Onondaga, who is retiring.
