Wants Troops Home Now, Single-Payer Universal Healthcare, and Green Economy
Howie Hawkins, the Green Populist candidate for Congress in the 25th Congressional District, will be airing radio and cable ads in support of his candidacy over the last five days of the campaign.
Hawkins said that a late surge in donations has enabled him to make a $3,000 media buy in the closing days of the campaign.
"A lot of people have been coming up to me and telling me that I am only one speaking to their issues. They want someone who is going to stand up for working people, who is not afraid to take on insurance companies and support making health care a right. They want a candidate committed to a total military withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan," noted Hawkins.
"I hope people listen carefully when they hear it. It may be their only chance since I'm not saturating the airwaves like the corporate-financed party candidates," Hawkins added.

I"m the only candidate in this race who opposed the Wall Street bailouts and called instead for buy-ins to create public banks to get credit, investment, and the economy moving again.

· a single-payer health plan
· full withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan
· deep cuts in military spending
· and investing the peace dividend to rebuild the economy with sustainable green technologies.
