Howie Hawkins secures independent line for 4th District council seat

Syracuse, NY -- Howie Hawkins, Green Party candidate for 4th District Syracuse common councilor, today submitted an independent nominating petition that secures him a line on the ballot Nov. 3. His petition included 531 signatures, more than double the 253 needed, his campaign announced.

Hawkins is challenging incumbent Democrat Tom Seals for the seat. Hawkins' top campaign issues include a stronger living wage law and development of public power.
