I already get some email, so that is enough. Best of Luck – John
I had to write in the Green candidates.
Can I come buy the office on Genesee and purchase some lawn signs?

Dear Candidate Hawkins:
I am a custodial parent and I am writing to you in order to discover your position on the child support system in our district and in the United States.
My position on this issue is that the system is broken and in many cases, unconstitutional. In many instances, parents face harsh penalties which can include jail sentences in the event of infractions of the child support laws.
I am asking that you respond to my inquiry as to your position on this issue and if you would support my Reform Child Support NOW! Campaign.
The Reform Child Support NOW! Movement members are seeking your support as we consider your position on this important issue in deciding whether or not we can cast a vote in your favor as you seek this important political office.
Sincerely,
N.K. Clark
While I’m not aligned with any significantly influential political party, I share many of the concerns reflected in your platform (though our ideal approaches in addressing them still differ considerably). One such topic is voting reform, for which you support Instant Runoff Voting. There are real problems with that system, so I’m writing to ask if your team has critically compared it to the following systems, any of which would be a better choice in my opinion:
- Range Voting / Score Voting
- Approval Voting
- Delegable Yes/No Voting
The simplest of these by far is Approval Voting, but the most exciting option as I see it is Delegable Yes/No Voting (described at http://rangevoting.org/DynDefn.html ).
Thanks,
Andy
Letter to the editor:
I’m just reading about the Green New Deal for New York proposed by Howie Hawkins, candidate for Governor of NY on the Green Party line. He’s proposing fully funded, desegregated schools, tuition free from pre-K through College. I can only think he wants to get himself assassinated because that’s what Qaddaffi did in Libya and look what happened to him. This same Howie, a second shift UPS worker near Syracuse proposes a state funded WPA jobs program to employ unused labor to meet community needs in public works and services. Howie must have been struck up side the skull with a manhole cover. Doesn’t he realize that we need those monies to keep our bankers in high cotton. This guy doesn’t share the confidence that our leaders have for those “too big to fail” banks and bankers and even thinks that aiding the labor end of the economy would be a good thing. Obviously he doesn’t see the big picture that statistically shows that if the politicians help the bankers it fattens their income streams. It seems to be a little bit of a strain on the lower income brackets, but these bankers obviously need the additional revenues for hedging, derivatives, and big bonus plans. It isn’t bad enough he’s after the schools, labor and banks, now he wants to promote 100% Clean Energy. He must be completely off his rocker bucking the status quo of Big Energy and it’s multitudinous radiation leaks, CO2 contamination, ash landfills and slurries, fracking, and other abuses associated with these industries. This simple minded blue collar guy thinks the citizens want clean air and water and jobs and common sense says you can’t have things like that and big bank giveaways and bonuses at the same time. Somebody better slap this same Howie Hawkins up the other side of his head before we have starving bankers and energy magnates plugging up the lines at the soup kitchens. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m gonna give some serious thought to that status quo business.

“- No New Fossil Fuel Infrastructure.
No new gas pipelines.
No Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) export facilities.
No railway tank cars, tank trucks, or liquid cargo barges carrying Bakken fracked shale oil or Alberta tar sands bitumen through New York State.
No storage of natural gas or liquified propane or butane in the Senaca Lake salt caverns.”
The replacement bridge for what is known as the Tappan Zee Bridge is already under construction and clearly this is ‘Fossil Fuel Infrastructure’. What say the Greens?
