It's not easy being Green
Howie Hawkins lost for the, well, we've lost count how many times he's run unsuccessfully. Maybe he should run for an at-large seat next time, to capitalize on his support in other parts of the city. Kevin Bott, the Green candidate for mayor, came in third in a three-way race. Barbara Humphrey drew little support in her run for school board. All three were good candidates, but didn't stand a chance against the city's Democratic machine.
