Nader and Hawkins to Hold News Conference in Albany on Tuesday, September 19
Time to Set the Record Straight on Clinton, Debate the War and Health Care |
Date: Tuesday, September 19
Location: LCA pressroom, Rm. 130, LOB, Albany
Time: 1:30 PM
Former presidential candidate Ralph Nader will join Green Party US Senate candidate Howie Hawkins in Albany on Tuesday, September 19th to call to bring the troops home immediately from Iraq and to enact health care for all through national health insurance. The event will be at 1:30 PM in the LCA pressroom (Rm. 130) of the Legislative Office Building, State and Swan Streets, Albany.
Nader will release Hillary Clinton’s Ten Taboos, an analysis of Clinton’s record in the US Senate. He will discuss her pro-corporate voting record. Hillary Clinton raises enormous amounts of money from corporations and other special interests. Of the 50 industries providing the most amount of money in the current election cycle, Clinton was the most favored candidate of 13, including lawyers/law firms, real estate, health care, securities/investment, entertainment, accountants, publishing, and food and beverages, among others.
Nader will also join Hawkins in calling upon Clinton to publicly debate her record and positions. "Hillary Clinton is fond of wrapping herself in the American flag with statements like 'I applaud the brave people who have been risking their lives every day to bring democracy and peace to Afghanistan and Iraq.' Why doesn't she have the courage to embrace democracy here at home and debate how best to achieve peace at home and abroad?" stated Hawkins.
