PARTY POOPER OF HILL DEBATE

October 22, 2006 -- The state's League of Women Voters chapter has withdrawn its sponsorship of today's WABC debate between Sen. Hillary Clinton and GOP rival John Spencer because the Green Party candidate was not invited.
"The voters of New York state deserve better," said chapter President Marcia Merrins.
She said in a statement that the Green Party's Howie Hawkins was considered by the group a bona fide candidate and should be included in this morning's televised debate.
